In addition, Philip, our coffee roaster extraordinaire designed Love Potion No. 2 with coffee beans from Costa Rica and Ethiopia. Its medium body with a touch of brightness makes it the perfect coffee to enjoy with someone you love. Valentine’s Day History

Early revelers celebrated Lupercalia, the original holiday for lovers, on Feb. 15 in ancient Roman times. This lusty holiday honored fertility and life and likely entailed the pairing off of willing mates. With the rise of Christianity, this holiday became a little tamer, with various stories emerging about Saint Valentine. In one case, he was an imprisoned saint who sent secret messages (Valentines) from his cell. In another, he was a priest who performed secret weddings, thus becoming the patron saint of love.
