KC Sea Shanty Choir at Rochester March 10

KC Shanty ChoirUpcoming Rochester Events

If you’re looking for things to do in Kansas City, Rochester Brewing and Roasting has you covered! In addition to live music on the first and third Wednesdays, we also host Tuesday Trivia and special events. This week, the KC Sea Shanty Choir is holding it’s first sing-along at Rochester. The sing-along is Friday, March 10, from 7-9 p.m. at Rochester’s Crossroads location. The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public.

What’s a Sea Shanty Choir?

Sea Shanty Choirs host fun, sing-alongs at various locations monthly. The events are meant to be a way to gather and have fun with friends and family. It doesn’t matter what’s in your glass, just hoist it high and join in the fun! This is not a formal choir, but an opportunity to learn and sing traditional sea shanties while meeting new people. Everyone, regardless of singing experience, is encouraged to join. You can clap along and enjoy if you don’t feel like singing. Shantymen will always be there to lead just like the old days on the open seas.

If you or someone you know loves sea shanties you won’t want to miss this event! The shantymen will be teaching everyone traditional sailing tunes such as “The Wellerman,” “Haul Away Joe,” “Santiana” and “South Australia.” Come aboard if you’re looking for things to do in Kansas City!
