You Say It’s Your Birthday

Rochester Brewing and Roasting is celebrating five years in business! Time has flown, and a lot has changed, but one thing has remained the same: our supportive customers and community. We want to thank you all for helping us build our dream to have Kansas City’s best coffee and craft beer under one roof!

The Beginning

If you’re not familiar with our origin story, Rochester started with a conversation between friends about their individual passions – roasting coffee and brewing beer – and their collective dream to create a space where they could share their craft with others. That conversation (and many more conversations) eventually led to creating a business plan, garnering support from family and friends, and finding our first location in the Crossroads. The building needed a lot of TLC, sweat and countless volunteer hours from our founder’s friends and family. But we were able to transform it into the current beautiful taproom, coffee shop, brewery and event space. Marshall’s parents were particularly tireless in these efforts, for which we are so grateful!

Overcoming Challenges + Adding a Second Location

Despite opening a few months before the COVID pandemic, Rochester has survived and thrived, thanks to the intrepid support of our families, customers and community. It seems like an eternity ago when we were forced to shift to a canning operation: selling beer and coffee to go during the pandemic, and even making deliveries to folks across town!

We never intended for food to be a primary feature, but we learned quickly that customers wanted tasty and affordable food options, so we continued to expand and hone our food menu. This really blossomed when we opened our second location last year in Parkville. The building was a former bakery, and much of the equipment was part of the acquisition. That’s when we started making our own donuts and pastries in house. And how people love them! For our part, we love being a part of the Parkville community and meeting new friends.

The Celebration

We have too much to celebrate to limit it to one day, so we have a full week’s worth of surprises in store for our customers starting Tuesday Aug. 27 and continuing through Labor Day Sept. 2:

  • New beer release: Barrel-aged cider
  • New Colombia Roast Coffee Bean Blend
  • New beer release: Single-barrel aged beer
  • Special Barrel aged cold brew release
  • New beer release: Anniversary Blend
  • Social Media Contest: Chance to win a $50 Rochester gift card – watch Instagram for details!
  • Customer Appreciation Discount – Sept. 2 – 10% off purchases all day*

*Excludes gift cards and event space rentals

Thank You So Much

We know we would not be where we are without the support of our customers and community. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you all for helping us achieve our dream. Please stop by either location to say hello and help us celebrate!
