Official Press Release for Rochester

Rochester Brewing and Coffee Roasting coming to West Crossroads Kansas City, MO 12/28/18 – The West Crossroads can expect a new brewery and coffee roastery in the spring of 2019. Rochester Brewing and Roasting Company has secured their permit to renovate the building at 2129 Washington Street, and plans to begin construction immediately with a targeted grand opening in late March of 2019. Rochester will brew craft beer, mead, cider and wine while also roasting specialty coffee from around the world. All of these beverages will be available in the café and to go. “We hope to serve the community great craft drinks in a welcoming and fun environment,” said Zeth McReynolds, the general manager of the café and event space. The brewery will feature a 1,400 square foot event space available as a stand-alone rental or in combination with the 1,200 square foot café. Rochester will feature pastries and other food options from local bakeries and plan to partner with food trucks to be set up on site. The name Rochester comes from the historic Rochester Brewery which operated in the Crossroads until the late 1800’s. This was before merging with two other breweries to form Kansas City Brewing Company, which operated until prohibition. The team hopes to pay tribute to the great craft beverage culture that has existed in Kansas City for over a century. Rochester has been in the works since late 2017 and is managed by Marshall VanTuyl, Philip Enloe, David Bulcock and McReynolds.
