No experience? No problem! You don’t need to know a single shanty lyric to join in. The Kansas City Sea Shanty Choir makes it easy and welcoming for everyone and provides links to song sheets. With their infectious energy and big-hearted spirit, they’ll guide the crowd through classic tunes like “Leave Her Johnny,” and many more. If you’re feeling saucy, you can even do a solo. Just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to sing out loud!
Founded with the mission to connect people through music, the Kansas City chapter of the Sea Shanty Choir is part of a global movement keeping the tradition of shanties alive and thriving. They’re known for their spirited performances, deep camaraderie, and a knack for turning any venue into a joyful chorus of voices. Seating is limited to 100 guests, so we recommend arriving early to snag a good spot — and maybe a drink or two before the singing begins!
