Rochester Brewing and Roasting, in collaboration with the Kansas City Whiskey Society, announces its first batch of bourbon-barrel-aged coffee! Members of the Kansas City Whiskey Society donated a Four Roses bourbon barrel. Then they participated in a coffee tasting event to select the perfect coffee to age in the barrel. Not surprisingly, they selected our popular Rochester Original coffee, which is a blend of beans from Guatemala and Brazil.
How Was It Made? Rochester Original signature coffee beans were aged for several weeks in a barrel of Four Roses bourbon. The beans were tested periodically to determine the optimal aging time. Once the flavor was just right, head coffee roaster Philip Enloe roasted and packaged them so you could enjoy them at home.
This unique coffee features flavors of caramelized sugar, sweet oak and chocolate. A rich, full-bodied blend, it’s perfect for a variety of brewing methods.
